Hello! Thanks for checking out my blog for Swade Studios! My name is Sarah Swade and I am a portrait photographer covering all of the Kansas City area, based out of Olathe. I specialize in newborns and babies but also love other portrait session such as families, seniors and maternity!

I am a mother of 2 wonderful children who keep me on my toes along with our 2 terriers. We love taking trips to dog parks, bike rides, making crafts and eating frozen yogurt. 🙂

I have had a love of photography since I received my first camera when I was 10. It was a cute grey and pink Polaroid CoolCam. I took pictures of everything! Then my love grew when I went to photography camp at the age of 14. I learned how to use my mom’s Pentax SLR and how to develop film in the dark room. From then on I was in the darkroom every chance I had. I have all kinds of fun photo shoots I did in high school with my friends and often spent my lunch breaks in the darkroom. In 2005 I moved into the digital world of photography with my Nikon D70 after getting married. In the fall of 2009, after having my second child, my husband and I decided to turn my love of photography into a business. This is a dream come true! I have had the opportunity to work with a lot of wonderful families and continue to learn new things every chance I get.

Now my gear of choice is my Nikon D800 and Nikon D700
